This is Sugar & Spice. I was asked to break this little mare for a 12 year old girl. I started her under saddle and over fences. When she was ready I handed over the reins to her owner and coached the pair. Today they still compete together in jumping.

Working for Olde Oaks Farm (a private hunter breeding barn in Thompsons, TX) I had the joy of starting many young horses. This little mare, Bright and Shiny (Rose), was one of my favorites. Video is of the first time being backed.

Many of these young horses at Olde Oaks were shown on the line before being ridden; as yearlings, 2 yo, and 3yo. This guy, Quick Shine (Speedy), I showed as a yearling and 2 yo on the line.

I had the opportunity to branch out to western pleasure training with a client who bred for the discipline.  This is a 2 yo colt that I started, this video was taken in the first 30 days of training. He was finished out by a show trainer.
